I want to start drinking 8 glasses of water a day?

Drinking squash is fine. The two websites below both think that 8 glasses is an overestimation of what we need on an average day. Food also contains a little water. I haven't been able to pin down how much is too much, but it seems that several litres over a short space of time can be dangerous and lead to water intoxication.
